Connect with Goodwin Hospice

Goodwin Hospice provides comfort and care for those 18+ with a life-limiting illness. If you or someone you know is looking for hospice services, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Who qualifies for hospice?

Hospice care is intended for individuals 18 and up with a life-limiting illness who are no longer pursuing curative treatment. At Goodwin Hospice, we begin with a conversation. If you or your loved one is attending frequent hospital visits, recently received a terminal diagnosis, experiences declining physical health or a desire to focus on comfort and quality of life, it may be time to consider hospice.

Not sure where to begin? Start here.

Beginning hospice care can feel overwhelming, especially during a difficult time. We’re here to walk you through each step with clarity and compassion. Here’s what the process typically looks like:

Getting started checklist:

  • Talk with your doctor or reach out to us directly to explore if hospice is right for you or your loved one
  • Speak with our team to learn about services, ask questions and discuss next steps
  • Schedule a free assessment so we can understand your needs and determine eligibility
  • Receive a care plan built around comfort, goals and personal preferences
  • Begin care at home or in a facility, with ongoing support for both the patient and family

We’re here to make the process simple, supportive and focused on what matters most.

Hospice referrals

If you or your loved one are considering becoming a patient with Goodwin Hospice, you can have your physician work directly with our team.

Who pays for Goodwin Hospice?

Goodwin Hospice is covered under Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance plans. Specifically, Medicare covers our hospice care for two 90-day benefit periods, followed by an unlimited number of 60-day benefit periods. Each benefit period requires you and your doctor to recertify that you are terminally ill and have a life expectancy of six months or less.

Schedule an assessment

Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need a doctor’s referral before considering hospice. Deciding to receive hospice care is a choice, and making the decision can be difficult. If you or your loved one is considering hospice, you can reach out to us at Goodwin Hospice. We’re here to listen and then talk you through options that you and your loved one might find helpful in making your decisions.
